I have always loved David Yurman jewelry, but it wasn’t until I did a shoot for Essence magazine that I fell in love with the brand all over again! Carrying everything from rings, to earrings, bracelets, necklaces, sunglasses and more Yurman really knows his niche’.
David Yurman Inc. Is a New York based American privately held company. It has 18 boutiques across the US and 3 international stores. The cable bracelet is his signature item, which is a twisted helix adorned with gemstones on the ends. Currently the Yurman’s (a husband and wife team) are bringing in $450 million in annual sales.
My personal gravitation goes toward all of his cocktail rings. Usually a single cut, brilliant, cushion cut stone – it comes in lavender, amethyst, topaz, blue topaz, black onyx, champagne citrine, and most recently pearl. The median cost for a ring is $2,000 depending on the stone and it’s setting. Yurman’s pieces are carried at his boutiques as well as Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus. Currently ShopStyle and Nordstrom are featuring sales, so shop while you can!

When I first moved to Los Angeles I always wondered what the crowd of people were doing standing outside (of what looked like nothing) at 7916 Sunset blvd. I have now come to realize there is a reason for this insanity.
The Griddle Cafe has been a long-standing staple in Los Angeles and is known for the perfect way to cure a hangover. Although ….you may to have to wait (sometimes 45mins on weekends) it’s well worth it! From Egg Dishes to Pancakes I really don’t think you can go wrong here. Not to mention.. the coffee, which is strong and good! Although, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING can compare to The Griddle’s French toast! In one word it is ORGASMIC. Named “Mom French Toast” is two fluffy, huge, white pieces of bread dipped in cinnamon egg batter and grilled to perfection. They are then dusted with icing sugar and a dollop of butter. Don’t ask me what they do… but there is definitely magic going on in that recipe.
The space is tiny, the crowd is loud, and the wait is long, but it is all worth it because you will never leave hungry or dissatisfied… especially if you get the french toast!!

Katsuya has been a long-standing favorite of the Celeb crowd, always drawing paparazzi whether its outside their Brentwood or Hollywood location. Part of the SBE franchise, Katsuya has made it over the two-year hump for usual Hollywood restaurant turnover and has been around for the last 5 years… there are many reasons why.
Katsuya is officially going to kick off my own “The Best Thing I Ever Ate” series. Although this restaurant boosts tonnes of great dishes, we are going to talk about the show stopper…….”Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice.”Anyone that has been to Katsyua knows that this dish is a signature one, it’s a staple, a “you have to order”. Spicy raw tuna (but not too spicy) set a top of a deep-fried, crunchy, jasmine rice square, it practically melts in your mouth. Pair it with their signature Watermelon Mojito and you will be back… it’s a promise. If you are looking for ambience, great food, inventive cocktails, and a good crowd, make your next meal here.

Regardless of what it is – (Oversized sweats, old t-shirts, baseball hats, plaid shirts..) I always have had a tendency of stealing clothing items from all the men in my life. Weather it has been my boyfriend’s sweats or my brother’s t-shirt I have always felt there is something sexy about when a woman wears men’s clothing. It is completely unobvious and fairly androgynous, but still it turns out to be highly flirtatious.
Last week stylespotting.com caught me on the street sporting a more casual look with a tailored men’s shirt. It inspired me to write this post, currently it is my favorite look. Dressed down or up – pair is with heels or sandals, it can be a day or evening look. My current evening look for this piece is with heels, shorts, and a statement necklace. If you wanted to dress it down – cutoffs, wedges, and a slightly wrinkled shirt does the job. Here are some celebrities take on the look…
Here are some more affordable options from our friends at H&M, Free People, and Forever 21.

Mid-way through a horrific work day my friend, (who is never at a lack for fabulous ideas).. called to ask if I wanted to meet him on the Rooftop of the Peninsula. By reflex I practically shouted “I’ll be there in 15!!!.” I had never been before, only had enjoyed high tea in the lobby, so on a day in March where the temperature was pushing 80 degrees, it was the perfect first time experience.

I decided on a Mojito, not too sweet and STRONG (which it should be at $16 a pop) it was Perfection. Will definitely be going back to indulge in one or more of their specialty cocktails. Some others featured were the Speckled Margarita (below) or the Kumquat & Citrus Punch (Ketel One, Malibu Rum, muddled kumquats, citrus juices), and the Grape Cocktail (Hendricks Gin, Grapes, St. Germain Elderflower, lemon juices, club soda).
They also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and having a great pool. The Peninsula is located at 9882 South Santa Monica Blvd. Beverly Hills,CA.

Rachel Bilson Street Style
It seems like only yesterday she was half of our favorite TV couple.. ahh the days of Summer and Seth.. But believe it or not The OC was circulating 7 years ago! Since then Ms.Rachel Bilson has established herself as a fashion maven and made her way onto the front row of every Fashion Week.
With a style that is simply chic, understated and a tad bit quirky, she is always wearing an outfit we are taking note of. We LUST after Bilson’s style!
Example in point: Bilson’s take on dress-up is this combo of a nude dress, coral blazer, Chanel classic flap bag, topped off with ankle booties, Ray-Bans and a gold necklace.
Coral Blazer - Vanessa Bruno $670
Chanel Classic Flap $1430

When I read about the upcoming “Street” opening I knew it had to be on the top of my priority list to try! The concept made me very curious and I was compelled to check it out! With the backing of chef Susan Feigner (competitor on Top Chef, collaborator of Border Grill and Ciudad), the restaurant sounded like a home run!
Street is a multi-ethnic restaurant of “street food” inspired by Feigner’s travels all over the world. Dishes are family style insuring you get to try the optimal amount on the menu. Dishes range from Mandoo Vegetable Dumplings, to Chilled Soba Noodles, to Fried Chicken, to Peanut Butter cookies. My personal favorite is the Kaya Toast. Coconut Jam, between two pieces of white bread, with a side of egg and soya sauce (for dunking), it’s pretty much the most random combination you have ever heard of, but I swear you will CRAVE it after you have had it once.
I went once when it first opened…I went back for my birthday, then Valentines Day, then took my mom on her last visit, then went last week… so I guess you could say… I LOVE IT!
The ambience is unpretentious, yet trendy, laid-back and with great service. Really, it is the perfect combination unique to the heart of Hollywood. Choose inside seating or enjoy the patio with complimentary blankets and heat lamps in case it gets chilly!
As long as you call a few days ahead you should be able to get a reservation, just don’t expect to walk in and get a table on a Friday night. I have yet to mention the best part… it is so affordable!! If I were you… I would run down the street…. To STREET! ;)
