The launch of Champagne & Couture represents the evolution of Randi Wood’s original site http://www.whaddagirlwants.com in 2007. The site started out as a hobby for Randi because of her enthusiasm for fashion, lifestyle, and culture. It has since blossomed into a career because readers and clients have both experienced Randi’s deep-rooted knowledge for style and passion for what she does. Her success didn’t happen overnight though, it’s the product of a lifelong love for fashion and style which can be traced all the way back to grade school.
From a very young age, Randi has had a keen interest in everything “big city.” Despite growing up in a small town without much exposure to Rodeo Drive, Randi started spending her allowance on Vogue magazines in 3rd grade. She would sketch the editorials she saw in the magazines and would wear extravagant outfits to school, despite the weird looks from her classmates. It was evident to everyone that fashion was her passion.
In high school, Randi began acting and dancing and her interests began to expand to celebrities and pop culture as well as fashion. After high school, Randi went on to studying marketing. Randi’s entrepreneurial experience then began at age 20 when she started a production company. She taught and produced dance camps, groups, and workshops. During this time, Randi continued to develop her interests and expertise in fashion, lifestyle, and fitness. After years of work experience she then pursued an education at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Visual Communications in Los Angeles.
However, it turned out her true education came from her travel experiences, which opened her eyes to different culture’s history and fashion. Randi fell in love with New York City, Dubai, and London during her journeys. She counts Thailand as her favorite vacation spot and Paris as her favorite city.
Upon graduating Randi entered the freelance styling and writing world. She started to assist celebrity stylists for shows such as the Grammy’s, American Music Awards, and red carpet events. She then slowly worked her way into styling new and upcoming artists herself and recently she styled the new Beach Bunny Swimwear campaign. Her writing credits include her weekly contribution to http://www.whippedstyle.com and past content for http://www.lashoppingreviews.com.
